Interesting!
An ad for 1953, using the motorama show car! This proves to some that the motorama car was a running, driving car (which now has been long established)...for a while many said that the motorama car was a "mule" and did not run and had to be pushed on and off of trailers.
There was a second motorama car used for Canadian shows and perhaps it was a mule and did not run. Comments 'bout that?

Very cool! Thanks for posting.

Burning Brakes
I could be wrong but there appear to be no fender scoops on that car. If I'm correct, then that is not the Motorama car. As to the Canadian version, I dunno.

no fender scoops!!!
Now even more interesting....
There are no fender scoops, like the production cars. yet, this car clearly has the motorama side trim, the one piece gullwing/fender trim only (lack of front to back side stainless and gullwing over side bonding seams), the smaller headlight rims, can't see the wheelcovers enought to know which they are (but they do have spinners and are not Bel Aire covers), no outside rear view mirror (akin to #1 & #2, though), clearly the motorama motor, and the one piece upper dash (no separate fiberglass piece covered with red vinyl, like the production cars) as on the motorama car. Really wondering what car this was.....no doubt the motorama motor, so we can assume the same chassis/drivetrain. Also note the description, 160 horsepower, not 150.
I believe this commercial is from the Today show from NBC, and that's Dave Galloway on the commercial, then host of the Today show.
I remember when the 50th reunion was held in Michigan and there was the big gathering of the 53's, Alan Blay drove #75 from his residence on Long Island to Michigan, through NYC and was featured and interviewed on the Today Show. He told me a real fun story of, as he put it, driving the hell out of #75 on his way back to Long Island after the meet in Michigan. He said he was doing around 90 or so on the interstates that night just seeing what she could do.....must have been fun!!!!!!!!!
