Default Billy Lynch AA/FD

Funny you posted this today...yesterday we had the East Coast Drag Racing Hall of Fame car show in Henderson, NC. I am walking along looking at all the famous drag cars (K.S. Pittman ******, Sox and Martins two pro stock cars, Pacers Auto Club Anglia) when I come upon Billy Lynch's AA/FD. As I start to look at his beautiful front engine dragster there was Billy.
I hadn't seen him since 1994 when I lived on Long Island. I was great to see him. Our visit was interrupted by his timed agreement to fire up the blown Hemi. What a sound and the smell of the NitroMethane mix was awesome.
Those were some great times....

Last Chassis built by famed chassis builder Pat Foster..

List of Billy's accomplishments.

Billy mixing up the nitro...

Billy center, my wife and I.

Regards,

Fred

Holly cow! Do I miss those days. I would never take anything away from the cats that do this today. However, there is just something with the old cars that is so much more raw and brutal. Thanks for the post!!

Thanks for posting those videos, they're great.
Back in the early 70's they would have match races at NE Dragway,
Don Nicholson-Ford, Dick Landy-Dodge, Bill Jenkins-Chevy, Sox & Martin-Plymouth.
Fun times back then.

Makes you long for the days before delay boxes, multi-disc clutches and energy drink sponsors...
