Default Soft Top Delete

I'm looking at a 1965 roadster in Phoenix that the owner claims to be a hard top convertible. He said that the car is a soft top delete. This is new to me. Any info. would be appreciated. Would this make any difference in the value of the vehicle? Thanks in advance.

When you ordered a 65 Convertable, you could specify Soft Top or Hard Top or both. For years, I had a very original 65 Roadster I bought from the original owner that was a hard top only car. They are around.

Thanks for the info. My thought is that the value of the car wouldn't vary with any of these options.

you got one or the other free in the base price, and when it was ordered with the soft top the hardtop became the auxiliary top at a extra cost of $236.75..... at today's prices the headliner for one is close to $200.00 by itself....Personally I like the look but some dont and there shouldn`t be any price differential one over the other....just go out and try to buy one.....

The "combination" is fairly rare..... Mine is a 67 Hardtop Only car- one of 417 delivered that way in '67 ...by the way, the look is great and ya just don't see 'em! Buy it- you'll like it!

Just curious. When the soft top is down you don't see it so what is the "look" with a soft top delete car?

Cheers,

Bob

It's not the "look"... there are no squeaks or rattles to worry about when storing the soft top!
