Default Engine Mount Ground Strap Location

Restoring a 427-425 hp 1966 coupe. The NCRS judging manual calls for the engine mount ground strap to be located on the driver's side, my AIM (1965 version) calls for it to be on the passenger's side. Both frame brackets have a small hole for a self taping screw. Did the strap location change from 65 to 66? Planning on getting the car judged so I installed it per the judging manual. Can anyone confirm the judging manual is correct.

On a '67 BB a few years ago, I followed the AIM, showing on the Driver side. The JG says it's the same.....left side. I don't have a '66 AIM but I was confused looking at the '67 AIM pic at first glance. It looked like Pass side, but it's really the Driver side.

You have a 50-50 chance. John Z may have the answer.

Be careful when following the Judging Guide word-for-word. Sometimes you find out when they tell you it's wrong. But....sometimes the AIM is wrong.

The '66 AIM calls for it on the passenger (RH) side, and the '66 JG calls for it on the driver's (LH) side.

The '67 AIM and JG both call for it on the driver's (LH) side.

I'm sure the '66 JG guys have it flagged for review for the next edition.
