Default 54 Pertronix 6 Volt Conversion

Has anyone installed this system in the 6 volt 54? I have one in my 66 and it works great. Also is my 54 a positive or negative ground?

Thanks

Greg

All U.S. cars are negative ground.

Maybe late model american cars, but there are plenty of positive ground american cars.

Yup - and they also have hand-cranks sticking through the radiator and mechanical brakes.

I don't think the Pertronix system works on the stock 54 distributor. When I looked into the issue a few years ago, Pertronix specifically stated that the electronic ignition module would not work with the 1112314 distributor. I suspect the interior size of the distributor is the problem.
