Pulley Puzzle
I'm trying to piece-together pulley set for alternator on left side and Vintage Air compressor on right for my '64 L76. Bought what I was told was '64 crank pulley to match wp pulley I already had. The outer grooves match, but the inner crank pulley is about 1/4" off from wp pulley, that is, the groove is closer to front cover - offset to the inside.
Here's what I have:
Wp is stamped with A3770245CC and measures 7 1/16" ~ 7 1/8". Grooves measure roughly 9/16" inner groove and 1/2" outer groove.
Crank is stamped with 3744043GM and measures 6 3/4". Grooves measure roughly 9/16" (measuring inner lip of groove).
Help me, I've fallen and can't get up!!
Dave

Thanks. Do I have the correct wp pulley?
Just answered my own question - yes I do, so it's now down to finding the correct crank pulley.

I just thought of another possible issue with my project.
As I indicated, I'm switching the alternator to the left side of the engine, so I must eliminate the idler pulley. Will this effect what pulleys I must use?
Thanks,
Dave

Pulleys can be a royal PITA
Dave:
I'm looking at my '65 AIM and for an L76 motor, with A/C, the water pump pulley called out is 3850979. I checked my parts catalog and it doesn't show that number; calls out 3995641 for SHP w/AC. So either of those should be good for you.
Also, the alternator pulley becomes 3848023 on a L76/AC car.
I've found every pulley I ever needed on Ebay --just takes some time.
Good prices since most sellers don't know the rarity of some pulleys.
Good luck with your search. Mike

Thanks Mike. I think I can use what I have to get the engine started and broken-in, then look for the right ones.
Have a great weekend.
