New pics of my '64 restomod wtih 295/50/15 tires!
Well here it is, the wheel and tire combo I've kept a secret throughout this project.. the fronts are 235/60/15 and the rears are 295/50/15. The wheels are 15x8 and 15x10 respectively and on 4 and 5 inch backspacing respectively.
The rears are exactly as wide as the fenders. I'm going to shave the inside fender lip to add some clearance, but unsure if this is going to be ok. I think 275 would be a better fit, but I can't find 275/50/15, only seem to see it in a 60 series which is a considerably taller tire..
Anyhow, enjoy the pics!

Great looking package. Are those PS Engineering wheels? I had planned to use 15s (12 wide in the rear and 7 or 8 in the front), but am having some minor caliper clearance issues and may have to go to 16 or 17 inch unless PS will do a bit of custom machining.

those are teamIII wheels. 10" wide is the limit in the rear for a stock frame and those fenders which are 1" wider each side than stock. suspension was all modified so the frame was the limiting factor on backspacing.
that 396 big block hood was on the car when i bought it 8 years ago.. i'm not sure if it is original but i believe it is. fit is just fine.
and no, i don't live on a gravel road.. wouldn't even consider it!

Looks great Mike. That does look tight at the rear to the quarter lip.
The guy at the show with the burgandy 66 never came around to ask about his back space.
You are seeing the light at the end of the tunnell. I may be bringing the 66 to RevXtreme on 12/19. If you need the trailer, let me know. We could load yours and hook to your Burban or I could bring it after I get done at the shop.

I really like the paint, and the look your going for! As others have said, if that is your final plan for the rear quarters, your gonna be sorry! Those rears are nearly one speed bump away from destruction!
You should really consider this before you do some damage!
Are you grill mounting your headlights? What is the power train?
The red paint looks killer!

Looks killer! I missed the bigger rear fender quarters the first look.

well I will have to admit, I'm more than nervous about the lifespan of the quarters the way things sit now.. i'm trying to source 275/50/15's instead, but not having much luck (don't want a drag radial)..
the last thing I want to do is re-order the rear wheels, since they're 400 each, so hopefully the 275 IF I can find it will buy me the clearance and insurance I need.. otherwise I'll have to get a deeper offset to go with the 275's which would allow me another 1/2" offset for a total movement of 1" inboard of the outside lip of the tire.
so goes this project.. order, change my mind, re-order..
other project details are spread out throughout the monster LS swap sticky in C3 tech.. the cliff notes are:
LS2 mildly modded to ~475hp mated to a TKO600 5 speed, '64 body mods include gts rear quarter panels (1" wider), 396 BB hood, glassed over headlights. I had the stock gauges internally modified to work with the new electronics and remain original appearing. the headlight plan is to install Hella HID behind the grille. Double offset trailing arms, shortened monoglass leaf spring, bilstein shocks all around.
It does sound very wild with the open headers.. I think I'll run without baffles in the side pipes for awhile
Videos will be made available after the new year..
