1965 Vette Coupe Restomod build: Phase 1 Teardown
The teardown process went a little easier than I thought. My greatest asset was the body pull check-off list found on this site. Just follow the step-by-step instruction and its pretty much idiot proof.
I stripped the body of all the necessary components that were required to come off and removed most the interior. Because I left the glass intact to reduce flexing while pulling the body, it took about 10 guys to lift the body and place it on the body buck. The frame was in decent condition, only a little surface rust. After some sandblasting and a can of POR15, it came out very nice. I ended up selling the frame, suspension, brakes, gas tank, engine, transmission, etc. on eBay for $6750. I used my seed money from the sale to purchase a SRIII frame. I then hunted down on the internet my C4 rear and C5 front suspension setup.
Next update is Phase 2: The build begins with the chassis
