Bought a 63 convert in late 63 and drove it nearly daily for 12 years (except when I was off on cruises in the Navy); can't ever recall having a water leak in that car... except when I drove it top-down in the rain, of course, and then only if I had to slow down :>)

This is for Sxrxrnr. The Cannonball record was 27 hr. 31 min from Darrien Connecticut to Redondo Beach Ca. Gurney and Yates with a Daytona Ferrari.
Make my 28 hours from Chicago a bit feeble but it was great ride. And not single ticket.

The movie "The Gumball Rally" is IMHO the funniest of all car movies. Not to be confused with the Cannonball Run and other such lesser knock-offs.

It came out several years after my trip, but did bring back some fond memories.

Do you happen to know Al Cavey out of San Francisco? A very old friend of mine who owns one of the finest Daytona's around. I think he paid 65K for it about 1984 or so. Been active in the old FOC (now combined club) since the early 80's.

I found this old post while surfing thru C1 convertible top issues. Has anyone seen this "Cavalier convertible header bar seal" in use? Doing an internet search on that seal brings up a number of different things. I would love to see a picture or two if this has worked for anybody and maybe a manufacturer and part number.

Default Third Latch fix for soft tops

This simple fix stops most leaks at speed. and you all know I like to drive at speed.

Yup Jackfit,

That's exactly what I did to mine. It works well. Not only is she dry but it really sealed up wind noise. Thanks for that info Jack!
