Default Lots of new write-ups

With all the cold/snowy weather I’ve gotten lots of Vette project completed this winter. Started out to re-skin dash pads, get wiper & headlight motors rebuild and convert Battery Gauge to Volt Meter plus other small odds and ends while dash was out. And as most of you know once you get started it’s hard to stop (project creep)

Some of these maybe overkill but being retired & a long winter I needed something to do

Here is some of project I have write-up on:

• Convert Battery gauge to Volt Meter
• Low Voltage Warning (Idiot) Light
• Whiteface Gauge Overlays
• Brighter Dash Bulbs
• Pluggable Dash Cluster Harness
• Calibrating/Set Fuel & Temp Gauge Needles

Visit this page for complete write-up with links to individual items ==>

How about a plug-in Dash Cluster

Put me down for one stand-alone cluster harness. A real timesaver in and out of the vehicle!

Excellent! Especially the cluster harness - I did the same thing when I built my Grand Sport replica. We finally got Engineering to bite the bullet and incorporate that design in the very late 60's.

Outstanding! I think we need to retitle this site, "Corvette Forum and Reengineering Site". We've got talent. Dennis

Default Thanks!

Cluster wireing is always a fun time. Lets see, upside down on you back looking up with reading glasses on. Can't think of any thing more fun!!!
I like your thinking, doing things to make future projects more easy guarentees you will never have to do it again.
Great write ups and as always good pics.

Thanks
Earl

A great help and resource George.I used your battery relocate blog (to the drivers side) on my 64 and your instructions were spot on. I just ordered the 1817 bulbs to change out my dim cluster lights. Truly appreciate your time and effort.

Great Infomation as usual! I always bookmark to make sure I have it when needed. One question where did you get the two cables that you used to splice into the wiring and what size are the wires? Thanks Richard

There is a JUNK ELECTRONICS store here in the St. Louis area that has 1000's of misc crap parts. They had 3 of these connectors and I bought all 3 ($3.50 ea). Don't know if they will ever have any more or not as they buy close-outs in quanity and/or old equipment/parts.

Here is their web site ===> http://www.gatewaycatalog.com/

Wire size is 20 ga which is enough for light & gauges. I change Ground wire to 18 ga.

Your web site just went to the top of my favorites list. I thought I was done with my '65, I may have to retink that.
