Default BW T10 rebuild

Hello all. Long time Corvette fan (my first was a white 1959 that I sold in 1966 to buy a Jeep - Still have the Jeep, wish I had the ‘59. I presently own a 1963 coup and a 2007 Z06.
I am absolutely new to this site and came here for some help/information on rebuilding a BW T10 transmission. By way of background, in 1967 I pulled the drivetrain from the Jeep and replaced it with a 340 hp 327 and a BW T-10 transmission. After some early years of racing the Jeep and many subsequent years of using the Jeep in a more sane (adult?) manner, the drivetrain had become tired. I just finished rebuilding the 327 and am preparing to rebuild the T10. The trans rebuild is how I became aware of this site and Joe Fisher’s articles on disassembling and cleaning the T10, both of which are excellent articles and will be of great assistance as I commence rebuilding the transmission. (Did Joe ever complete the assembly article? If so, I’ve been unsuccessful locating it.) I’ve purchased Paul Cangialosi’s book on rebuilding manual transmissions, but I’m afraid I will need more instructions/hand-holding than the book offers. Is anyone able to direct me to an assembly article similar th the disassembly article written by Joe? Thank you in advance for any assistance/suggestions you may be able to offer.

Can't help with a book but Larry at D&L transmission is a wealth of info and parts. Maybe follow Paul's video on T10s

The BW T 10 was replaced in mid 1963 by the better Muncie and used through 1974.

I rebuilt a 63 T10 a couple of years ago and it was still in good condition so no gears were needed. I don’t think the gears are available anymore and the transmission has a 16 spline output if I recall correctly.

I would be more inclined to buy a Muncie or Tremec but your choice

Thanks. The video is for a Super T10, but still contains a lot of useful information that should be transferable to the T10.

Gary, Agree on the Muncie and Tremec, but the adapter I bought in 1967 to mate the transmission to the transfer case is specific to the T10. Thanks for replying.

You would be better off going with a Muncie and jettisoning the T-10. You could opt for the Super T but that will require a change in the yoke, as it will with the Muncie, so nothing is really gained by going the Super T route. There are tons--and I mean tons--of good Muncies out there with an inexhaustible inventory of parts. It is the most economical way to go. You could probably find a good box for around $500.00-$1,000.

Rebuilding the BW-10 is a waste of time, even if you could find NOS parts. From the jump, they were inherently weak boxes.

I think these guys don't understand that you're working on a T10 transmission in a Jeep, not a Corvette

I'm not a T10 expert...yet but it does appear AllStateGear is offering up a wide range of new gears, shafts, and rebuild kits...I'm not sure what's all for super T vs T..seems a mix

Thanks for the link. It looks like if D&L doesn’t have what I need, AllStateGear will.
Response have been great. I appreciate everyone’s input.
