Speedo/Tach cable lube
Does anyone have experience with lubricating a C2 Speedo or Tach cable? I've looked at the lubricating tool sold by Mid America and wondered if they were worth the money or effort. Just wondering if anyone has had success lubing a cable or if I should just replace them. I'm getting a clicking noise from my Speedo cable with a little needle bounce at lower speeds.

Much about this if you search "speedometer lube". Here's an example:

lubing tach & speedo cable
In 47 years of ownership (i replaced one speedo cable) I have used regular engine oil without any problems! Thing to look for is tight radius of cable from firewall to transmission. I put some engine oil at the head of the cable every 10 years! Good luck ,Abe G
