Default 1964 Fuel injection vin?

Did early 64 fuel injection units have the vehicle vin stamped on them. Or would any unit made up to 180 days prior get full credit to NCRS.

Id like to have a unit on a shelf and when i want to sell the car or get it judged down the road, bust it out and throw it on.

I dont have the funds at the moment but if each of these units are totally unique to the car, with the numbers on them, ill save my money for other things.

The practice of stamping FI units with part of the VIN was begun in '64 but apparently not all were stamped according to Adams' book (3/5 L84 equipped vettes were stamped). The NCRS judging guide says the early 375 units were not stamped and that stamping began approximately at VIN 14000. It's the same VIN stamping the engine block received and the guide gives the example of "414524". The stamp was at the front of the plenum up to VIN 17000 after which it was at the right rear. The guide says that unstamped plenums (after VIN 14000) should be a rare exception.
