65 headlight warning (limit) switch hookup
Installing a new front harness today and not sure of which wires go to which ends of the warning limit switch. The wires for each switch are black and black grey stripe. Does it make any difference which side of the switch gets the black wire? I would assume that if both switches were wired with the same color wires attached the same that is all that is needed. Example being: right sides of switches get the black wires and left sides get the black grey stripe wires.
I just re-read my question.... I sure hope it makes sense to someone out there.
Thanks

All that these wires do is make ground to the dash light that lets you know that your headlights are not up when the light switch is on. They in no way "limit" the headlight travel. Either wire can go on either terminal of the switch. So that was just a long winded answer to Jim's reply of "NO".

You would think they are limit switches....
But nope, Switches just turn on the little light on the dash
Now, you know why the motor drive gears get damaged
They just wind away until they jamb up on the stop
I always try to let up on the Headlamp motor switch a bit early, to slow the motors down before they jamb up on the stop..
