Filling technique is very important to get the full capacity of the tank as well as checking gauge and mileage. Suggest having filler on uphill side of car as well as slowing down rate of fuel pumping towards end. There is probably a few gallons difference between initial full and really full, as can be indicated by how far the needle goes past F and how many miles you drive before needle hits F. 14.2 gallons is the max I ever put in the 60.
It wouldn't hurt to carry some spare gas in case you want to do any driving below 1/8 tank. Senders can change readings over time as well. Good news on the old cars is you won't burn up $$$$ fuel pumps if they run low or dry.
