Hardtop restoration
I need a 56 Hardtop Restoration. Can someone give me a steer in the correct direction as to a great shop to do this work professionally and within reason. Personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Glassworks-midyear top looks 110% for $4500
BIG TIP: Make sure you will use the top. If not after all the money and heartache you "might" be able to sell it for $1500. Probably the worst investment I've seen on a midyear.

yup, glassworks.
After I did my own, I came to the conclusion that I really didn't save as much as I thought I would. I had a shop do the body work and paint on the top. I had a local shop take care of the SS. I bought the kit from glassworks. They were most helpful while I was doing mine.

Unless you have done one before and IF it needs to be NCRS correct, I would have them do it. If it doesn't have to be NCRS correct (mine isn't) and you want a challenge, then do it yourself!
good luck!!!

I started working on my own, as I had done all the work on my car except for the engine machining (body, soft-top, upholstery, dash, windshield, doors, etc.)... I quickly realized I was in trouble as I had no idea exactly how to take the thing apart, without breaking something, and less of an idea how I was going to put it back together! There are a slew of small rivets, etc., etc... I went with Glassworks, after a Google search popped up a bunch of videos made by the Glassworks guys and uploaded to U-Tube. They are not cheap, but my top looks like brand-new! They did a really fantastic job!
