Default 1969 Vet motor HELP ID

427 block 3963512 A 27 9, 4 bolt main & Alum. heads 3946074

I remember this motor running in the Vette with side pipes when I was a teenager and it sounded mean. Is this a L88 motor and whats these things bring today.

Any help Thanks Brian

Default Hello

Noticed you just joined today and this is your first post. You might get more help if you introduced yourself and told us about your car or history with Corvettes.

Where is the engine front pad located?

The motor is out of the car and has been sitting in a heated basement since 1978 and I've been asked to help ID it correctly and find out WIW?

Brian
The front pad is located just forward of the passenger side head on the deck of the block. The deck is extended about 3/4" on that side just for this purpose. If you're looking from the front, it is just to the left of the passenger side upper water pump mounting bolt (stud). On a BB, the engine ID should start with the letter "T". If it's an original engine, the last 8 numbers & letters of the VIN will be stamped there also.

Thanks I'll look for the Numbers tomorrow when I drag the stuff out of the basement

Can someone move this to the C3 area?

The block deck has been milled so there are no numbers stamped into the deck. I put it for sale in the C3 parts

Thanks Brian
