Period Photos of '59 Barn Find
Last week I displayed a number of photos of the '59 "Barn Find". The new owner of the car gave me the family photos (his uncle owned the car since '62) today and I thought the Forum would find them interesting. At the very least, you will now know what the trailer hitch was used for.
The car will be coming down to the shop this week and an assessment of what is needed will begin. I will take pics of the delivery and the give periodic follow ups as we start the process. Note that the shed in the period photos is the same one found in the pics last week, where the car was stored. The car has held up better than the building, I think.
I will have the pics up in an hour or so. Technical glitch on this end.

Very neat pictures. Looks like the front fender well cutouts are gone now. Very Cool car. The green tint photos remind me of the old car mags before they had full color. Maybe it just looks that way on my monitor.

I knew the police style spotlights were popular with the full size car crowd, but I've never seen any of those lumpy accessories installed on a Corvette. They certainly don't add much to the car.....! "Car 54 where are you"?

How the heck did he mount those spot lights? Actually on closer look, they might be sirens. Do like the 57.

Cap insignia doesn't appear to be for a commissioned officer.

Saw them in the original post, and wondered myself, never on a vette, that just seems weird.

Cool Pics
Question for the old guys. In the picture with the '57 Chevrolet, is that car a factory six cylinder or V8? Tell us how you know.
Don't mean to hyjack, just having some fun, hope its OK!

Did the go-kart and trailer survive too? That would be an awesome rig to pull into the local cruise-in with!
I never realized how popular karting was in that era until I started collecting some of the $.25 car magazines from the 1950's and 1960's.
The car is an amazing time capsule. Thanks for sharing the photos.
