67 BB 3x2 PowGlide Detent Linkage Upper rod
This is my go on the forum thread.
I'm restoring a 67 400 HP 3x2 PG w AC convertible. I have ordered 2 different upper detent rods and the one is the pics is seems to be the closet fit. My issue is that it is rubbing on valve cover and ign coil bolt. Also the ball stud on the carb is not all the way forward in the slot when WOT. The slot part is screwed all the way back on the rod threads.
Any help would be appreciated

I have the right accelerator rod. It's the detent rod that's my issue. It looks like there's a U shaped bracket on the bottom of your carb swivel that the ball stud attaches to. I don't have that on mine. The ign coil bracket should be for 3x2 from what I researched and my engine builder has been doing them for 45 yrs.

That's the first rod I ordered and it's not even close to the right length. Found the one I have in a pic on another supplier and that one is really close.
I think I'm missing the ball stud extension that's in your pic on the bottom of the carb swivel. there's nothing connected on yours.

Mine was a 4-speed car. OP has a Powerglide, and I have no idea what is correct with automatic.

That was my car and the linkage was totally correct.....except the plastic sleeve on where the primary linkage connects to the throttle rod is installed backward. The flange goes on the inside. I corrected it shortly after the picture was taken. That was a LONG time ago. 2009 or 2010. There is a photo array of that car on the wall in my office that I'm looking at right now.
