Son of a gun, never thought I owned a 400 Horse but since it was built in Dec 65, I guess it is so by the above note.

Nolan Adams says "Early 1966 L36 engines were rated at400 HP at 5400 rpm. Serial #105673 is a documented 400 HP example, as shown on its build sheet. Later, the L36 engine was downrated to 390 HP at 5400 rpm."

Yep - you will find this documented in all the good Corvette guides - but interestingly I don't remember anyone on here trying to document an early 66 400 HP car. Before, it has always been about the early 450 HP cars. Good luck with your car.

Wonder what the cylinder block for one of those cars I sold for $50 in 1982 is worth today? I was rebuilding the motor on my 65 converted BB car, and the sold block had one of the starter mount tabs brazed back on. Thought after spending all that money on a rebuild, why risk shearing off one of the starter mounts.
