Default Rear speaker - Where do/did you run the wires

I picked up one of the Custom Autosound's rear speaker bars for my car. I was thinking of running the wires down the channels by the door sills, where the antennea cable runs. Although, it seems as if this would need to be completed before I put in the sound insulation and carpet.

Where have you run speaker wires?

You don't say what car...running the speakers through the 'wire chase' by the sill plate in a C1 is the best way to do it on the early cars.

It might be a while Joe, but will let you know. Each speaker has approximately 12 feet of speaker wire to them. I think I'll run the wires down both sides.

I would be interested in seeing the finished product as I am considering doing the same. Would like to see how the "sound bar" is mounted on the rear horizontal panel as mentioned in the ad.......kick panel speakers too

Wires were simply run under the carpet. Unfortunately when they installed the carpet, they cut one lead of one wire, and of course the carpet was glued down.

I then had to run a new wire from the amp under the seat, up to the console (undid the console), along the stick, and to the radio (PITA).

Added an MP3 hook-up too.

Dash speaker was traded for a dual voice coil 6"x9" with outboard tweets.

I ran the wires from the speaker bar through the carpet on the back wall ('66 coupe) behind the bar so they can't be seen. Then under the carpet and routed against the rear harness/antenna wire along the left side of the compartment and through the wiring channel under the driver's door.

I haven't run mine yet but I plan to run them all under the channel at the right door sill. My 65 doesn't have any wires running up that side so I have plenty of room.

I would suggest running your wires in the same location the rear harness resides in. That is under wire cover on the drivers side and up and around the left rear filler panel behing the carpet. You can slip the speaker wire out between where the side and rear carpet seams meet on the left rear and connect to your speaker bar from there. Pilot Dan

I ran the power wire down the right sill, the turn-on lead down the console and the speaker wire down the left sill.

Just remember to try to keep your speaker wires as far away as possible from any power wires.
