Default flywheel help

I picked up a new flywheel(3973456n) at a swap meet and was told it would fit my 60 corvette with a SB 327. The car currently has a turbo 400. I bought a clutch and pressure plate today (10 and a half) Of course it doesn't fit. One set of holes in flywheel. If the flywheel is correct can I just buy a 11 inch clutch or would I be better off finding a differient flywheel?

if your bellhousing is original it will not cover a 11 inch clutch... I'd just find a correct flywheel

JEEEEEEEEEEZ guys, learn your stuff!!!!!!!!!!!
Beginning with the VERY FIRST Chevy V8 engine in 1955, ANY V8 flywheel up through 1985 (90 for BBs) will bolt up to ANY Chevy crankshaft. It DOES NOT matter if it is the smaller 153 teeth or the larger 168 teeth flywheel-------------IT WILL BOLT UP!
The flywheel to be used is determined by the bell housing. And the flywheel also dictates which starter must be used.
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 55-62 Chevy V8 engines ONLY used the larger 168 teeth flywheel. MOST 55-62 flywheels had a bolt pattern for a 10in clutch (which is the same as the later 10 1/2in clutches). SOME 55-62 flywheels (trucks, taxi, police, etc) had a bolt pattern for an 11in clutch. ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of these flywheels/clutches fit inside the SAME size bell housing!!!!!!!!!!!
SOOOOOOOOOO, YES, a 55-62 Corvette (and pass cars also, oh ya, and trucks also) bell housing WILL FOR A FACT accept the larger 168 teeth flywheel with an 11in clutch.
I put together the following link MANY months ago. The pictures are no longer on the first page because I made changes to my Photobucket file. It will be necessary to go to pgs 4-5 to see the pictures.

Well, I don't know what else the hell to tell you then. My 56 Vette has a 1960 open bottom alum bell housing with a 14in, 168 teeth flywheel and 11 in clutch and my 51 Chevy has the same setup with the exception of a 57 Chevy style cast iron open bottom bell housing.
I would suggest you make it a point at your next opportunity to bolt a 168 teeth flywheel to the rear of a SB crank shaft, then bolt on an 11in clutch then bolt on ANY bell housing that's made for the larger 168 teeth flywheel and observe how well it all fits together.
The same setup is also in my son's 66 Chevy pickup behind a SB400.
And last, you might get on the 55-57 Chevy section of Chevytalk forum and inquire of some of those guys who have 55-57 Chevys with a stock 55-57 bell housing, 168 teeth flywheel and 11in clutch behind the SBs in their cars and see what kind of comments they provide.
Ya know, I've only been jacking with these old Chevys for almost 50yrs now!
I DO NOT profess to be an expert, but for a fact when I've done something several times for many years, I do know what works and what doesn't work!

Tom -- Donny Brass was JOKING!

Hence the smiley... I doubt there is anybody on here that doesn't take your word on these topics as well as suspension information; if they are smart that is...

I think Donny was giving you a backhanded compliment actually ..
