Default How can I lower my rear end on my 66

Just finished frame off on my 66 small block Conv. All new suspension. The rear spring is the correct 9 leaf for this car. It's 2 inches too high. What should I do. Longer bolts?

When did you torque all the rear suspension bushing bolts (trailing arm front bushings and both inner and outer strut rod bushings) - before the car was all done, or after it was done, with full weight on the spring and the suspension at normal ride height?

Got photos of the rear spring?

Default Springs

Your springs should relax a bit over time. You can buy longer spring bolts from Vette Brakes and Products. Since they are in St. Pete, they are almost local for you. Jerry

Maybe you bought a bad reproduction spring, Mike Eaton Spring is the only one you want to get.

as stated in time it will come down a bit but not that much...John Z was more on the money ...which procedure did you do when reinstalling the componets? yes longer bolts will give you more adjustment on the height...how far up did you tighten up the nuts on your spring bolts? perhaps you have a couple of threads you could loosen the nuts back to?? you might have the correct number of leafs in your spring set up but at what spring rate is it??????
