If you have posted Pics of this project, can you point me to the link? If no Pics posted, can you give us a few to show the progress and I'm interested too in your paint choice. Sounds like a very nice project. DJ

Black/Black from factory. Pretty poor shape when I got it. Better Now.
I would figure half or less than half produced registered now. Between wrecks and race cars a lot of them disappeared.

Thanks!
I tend to agree that close to half must be out there and probably more of the split windows than the '63 roadsters. I think between 4-5000 SWC is a good ballpark.
From the onset of my crude '63 file, split windows have always numbered more than the '63 roadsters and the gap is higher than 400 cars consistently.
The question of how many cars remain is repeated often and is one of the questions I wanted to try and answer when I first starting jotting down the cars years ago.

I am amazed at how many are left. I rarely see another one not even at car shows. I guess that even if 5000 are left the odds are against just spotting one driving down the road someplace.

I guess it depends where you live as to how many you see. I've heard of some others here in Vegas but I've never seen one. I see 4 or 5 other C2 coupes and roadsters at a car show they have here every Saturday morning but no other split windows. I entered my car in the Super Chevy show here in Vegas last year and won the street class from 53 to 67. No other split windows in the show. I was lucky most of the cars I see on this site weren't there. I drive down to Los Angeles about 5 times a year and go to a famous hangout in Burbank called Bobs Big Boy on Friday night with usually over a hundred cars and never have seen another split window. Anyway I thought they were pretty rare but now realize they aren't as rare as I thought.

I ran the numbers a few years ago and I came up about 1350 cars in this color. I have no actual proof that this is the number and I'm sure others have more definitive number information on the real totals built in this color. I'd really like to be able to drill down to the option level but, this too is just a guess unless others have the information to do so. Thanks for your comments. A few years ago while I had this car at a show, a very attractive gal came up to me and asked if the Corvette was mine. Yes I replied. Then she said; "Finally, a man that is secure enough to own a Corvette that is not red!" I chuckled and said, thank you..

What is the rarest color for '63 as only 3 out of 7 paint option totals are recorded for the year??
From the get go and consistent to today on my research list, it appears that Saddle Tan is the rarest color for the year.
We will never know the real percentage but here's an indicator;
Based on 3,130+ cars listed to date, or just shy of 15% of 1963 total production, I have just 218 cars listed as being Saddle Tan.
Silver Blue follows with only 264 cars listed and then Tuxedo Black.
By comparison, over 700 cars are recorded claiming to be Riverside Red.
Of course, many of these cars were repainted Red etc. and this flaws the data but it does give you an idea.
