How many '63 roadsters & split window coupes left ?
#961
Syd, I can't believe you are still tracking these ! What's the total count you have now and does anyone have an official count of how many are left ?
I have 109044. It's a 63 convertible w/hardtop, automatic and has the backup light option. It's Daytona Blue w/dark blue interior.
It originally came from Madison, WI and now resides in the Charlotte, NC area.
Anything else you can tell me about it ?
Thanks
David

Hi David,
Yep I'm still following 63's as they appear!
I did not have info for your Roadster #9,044 so not much I can tell you except maybe take a good guess at your cars body number being #4,145 ?
I think it's pretty cool that your car has back-up-lamps! To me that's a really nice looking option and of course very rare for '63.
I have '63 #9,045 recorded as being a Silver/Red Coupe - listed from the C2 Registry site and said to be in Norway. Not sure how much of it's info is real and if you check out it's listing on that site you will see why.
Also have #9,046 listed as a Silver/Black Z06 Tanker Coupe.
#9,047 is recorded as being a Silver Blue/Black Coupe that was modified and #9,048 is listed as a Black/Black 340 Roadster that was Red/Red when recorded.
Thanks David!

Hi ranger,
Thanks for sharing! I had your '63 Convertible #13,137 in my file as a Silver NOM modify/project with hardtop and the notation, Silver??
Could you please tell me it's body number if possible? I'll update it's info info to show Red and possibly radio delete.
What is your tach redline if it still has it's original cluster?
Thanks!
Syd

By body number, and you referring to the number that was written onto the passenger side of the firewall down low? I'll have to go out and look sometime to see. I think there is still a remnant of the marking, but I don't recall if it was legible.

There was no cluster in the car when I got it; so I have no clue on the original tach redline. It was definitely a Riverside Red car. The trim shows it, and there was red overspray under the old original carpet glue, but no signs of silver anywhere that I found.

By Body number, I mean what is written on your cars Trim Tag, where is says BODY.
Thanks again!

Dang, thought I may have gotten one that somehow escaped your comprehensive filing system! Oh well, at least I can add a body number to the data base:

I saw this '63 for sale somewhere on the net and loved it. I looked at it's pictures multiple times thinking it looked great.
It's a 340 hp right?
Good luck with getting her back out!

Thanks for sharing this info!
I had '63 #13,934 in my file as you describe but had it noted as being a NOM FI. I did not have PB listed with this car.
Thanks again!

Hi Dave,
I have no idea how many remain or are registered but I have kinda kept track for over 15 yrs.
Including some 63's that were recorded prior to me and some cars recorded by others, and also including some that were wrecked or stolen etc. over the yrs, I've listed over 3,100 cars in my '63 file.
Of the approximate 3,100 '63 total, 1770 are split windows.
I'd guess that a good number survive, at the very least double that figure and most probably quite a bit higher.
I would love to hear from '63 owners who would contribute to this file.

Yes, I have your '63 #8,403 listed as being a Black/Black FI 4spd Coupe with the notation Ex FI? Body #4,641.
Is this correct?
I noted ex FI? meaning that the fuel injection unit was probably no longer with the car when I recorded it but put a question mark because I wasn't positive about that fact.
