How many '63 roadsters & split window coupes left ?

Burning Brakes
Yes I have '63 #4,302 recorded as a Blue/Saddle 340 Coupe with leather, Body #2,207.
What I don't have listed is whether it's a 3spd or a 4spd?
Thanks!

Syd, the car have 4 speed and now is a restomod car. do you keep track of if a car is stock or modify? thanks for checking

I record them all as presented and note when one is modified, customized, restomoded, pro street modify etc. and always try to list them in my file with what they were originally.
So for this coupe I've now added that it was a 4spd and noted that it is now a restomod.

Would someone please help to explain to me why a question that, on its face, is unanswerable to any accurate degree is still up a "sticky"? It was a stupid, unanswerable question when posted and remains so.

Sticky
I admit that I do not have a single bit of knowledge about the required criteria of a sticky.
What I do know is that this subject is very important to us 63 owners and Syd is to be applauded for his hard work and dedication in assembling a historical list of these unique corvettes.

After seeing that this thread has over 1000 replies and 82,000 views, you probably would not understand any reply. Suggestion: don't click.

The National Corvette Restoration Society is a national organization based in Cincinnati with local chapters across the USA, Canada and overseas. They sponsor the National Corvette museum in Bolling Green, KY. National membership and local membership is not expensive. Local chapters offer judging meets, technical sessions and social events. Taking through a judging can be frustrating but is also rewarding as you get to know your car. National does offer to members, for a fee, various documentation services. Unfortunately the build sheet documents from the St Louis plant have been lost in a fire. Shipping reports however are still available. Go to NCRS.org for more info. I joined several years ago and have found it to be a wonderful experience, but you need to participate to get the most our of your membership.

pizzacutter, I did not have your '63 Coupe #4,159 recorded in my file.
Could you please tell me a bit more about it? What are it's original colors, what engine hp does it have and what transmission type? Does it have any other options like power brakes, steering or windows?
Also, could you please tell me it's Body number?
Like vettesplit 63 suggested, you should join NCRS and then request a shipping data report for your car. If they are able to read your cars info from their records you will find out the dealer where your car was delivered new along with it's production date. Finding out this information for my car helped lead me to the original owner of my coupe!
NCRS costs $45 per year and you can join by going to:
www.ncrs.org or you can call 513-385-8526.
Thanks pizzacutter!

Regarding why it's still a Sticky, it's approaching 84,000 examples of its continued interest on the forum, surpassing many Stickys found throughout the forum. That's certainly not the only criteria for a Sticky, but it's pretty obvious it stays active these days.
We continue to review the Stickys from time to time.

Hi Syd,
Just checking up on your work. I was looking at the C2 registry, and for 63 vetts ,
they have just under 600 registered on their sight. ( if I am not mistaken)
I understand you have over 4000 , 63 vetts listed.
Nice job!!!
When are you going to post a list so we can look at all these cars?

I now have just over 4,100 63's listed in my file and counting.
When I started recording them I never thought for a second that my list would grow this large but as I've said before they just keep appearing. I remember thinking that reaching 2,000 cars might be attainable then the same for 2,500 but the pace never really slowed. Last year it blew past 4,000 so the next goal is to hit 4,303 cars in total or 20% of 1963 production which if the pace keeps up should be around this same time next year. I guess I'll decide then what to do depending on whether the sources are drying up or perhaps 25% is within reach?

I had your '63 #1,974 listed exactly as you describe. All that I'm missing is the color of your soft top?
The closest Roadster that I have recorded to yours is White/Black, #1,964 with Body #1,095.
Thanks Mike

Thanks, Syd,
The top is black, no date code I could see, pretty old and ragged on the corners, tag was cut off, doubt if it is original. Also, no hard top. I think this car spent most of its time red with a black top and interior based on old titles. The original Daytona blue paint is very recent.
Thanks again,
Mike
