Default '63 swc

#105352 is in my shop, excuse me, all over my shop.
Silver/Red, 300 HP. Now in final stages of disassembly. Normal C2 rust issues, but not as bad as I expected. Great part time job.

Of the approximate 3,100 '63 total, 1770 are split windows.

I'd guess that a good number survive, at the very least double that figure and most probably quite a bit higher.

I would love to hear from '63 owners who would contribute to this file.

Syd
I'll assume that you have mine. I understand that "of all Corvettes built between 1963 and 1967, half have been stolen, and of those stolen, half have never been recovered"

Of 199 63 Z-06 Corvettes, the Registry currently shows 97 (or about half)...41 small tank and 56 big tank cars.
Therefore I sould assume that regular cars would have about the same numbers (about 50% of 20 odd thousand) would be 10,000...or so.

Hi Brent,

Looks beautiful and I mean it.
Don't know if you care but I originally recorded this car as being a Black/Red wreck car with the tags (not in person).
I later on made a second listing for it when it reappeared as shown.
There are quite a number of cars with multiple entries.

If you check the body number (#2,680) as shown on the trim tag, this would indicate a '63 Coupe built around serial #5,075 or so.

This might be a real a/c car but it's trim tag is way out of sequence.

Of the question of how SW Coupes are left, I guess then that it would be about 5000, since of the 21,513 or whatever, about half more or less were coupes.

PS- two in my garage/shop #2986 Red/blk FI and 20396- orig. Blk/Blk 340 HP- now Daytona Blue/blk -both coupes

out of all the corvettes produced i feel the 63 split window would have been perceived as a classic and collector car quicker than any other corvette (exceptions are pace cars). out of 10,594 coupes i would have to believe well over half to exist. unless a 63 was used as a donor car or totalled in a accident i cannot imagine a 63 coupe not being saved.

Hi Jim,

I also had your car on my listing...with pw and pb.
What I don't know is your trans type and again like most, the Body #.

Thanks!

Hi Abe,

I had NO info on your Silver swc #3,503.
Would you mind telling me more so that I can include it, like interior color, engine hp and trans type and any options like pw etc.?

I think it's always pretty much the coolest to find an original owner who ordered and bought his '63 new!

Thank you Abe.

Your car sounds really sweet.
I had no info on it prior.

I do have #19,505 though, listed as a Red/Black NOM 4spd Coupe with pb.

Thanks
Syd
