Default Walker Super Turbo Mufflers

I have a 64 327 300 hp roadster and I'm looking into new mufflers. The local performance mufflers place has recommended Walker Super Turbo Mufflers . Can anyone chime in with their opinion. I was looking into replacement of the originl n-11 off-road but I'm not sure where to get them. Ecklers has "performance" mufflers but not labelled n-11 . There is also some talk about "dynomax" mufflers.

thanks

Warren

Corvette Central sells the replacement off road mufflers. They sound pretty good. I recently put a set of magnaflows on a 64 and i am not impressed with thier sound quality. A little too quiet and too flappy at idle

You cant get any better than a Walker muffler....and the Dynomax is a top of the line performance real muffler and not a grapefruit tin can that sounds horrible even on a 'Mustang......

I have the Dynomax super turbos on my 68 big block and they sound great. Not obnoxiously loud but louder than stock for sure. Nice rumble when you are cruising and music when you jump on it. No resonance or drone. They are a very good flowing muffler

while most repro parts suck, CC did an awesome job with these.. I got one of the first sets and they are just fantastic.. Make sure they send you the correct guillotine clamps tho..

I pulled the trigger on a full n11 off road system from cc. My existing n11 off-road exhaust system was showing some rust and passengers side muffler has a small hole........it was time. should sound nice with all new system.
I ordered 4- hd clamps .hopefully they will be fine , if not I should be able to get clamps locally.
thanks everyone for your help.

Does this Walker Turbo muffler sound like the Corvair Turbo mufflers that were very popular 30-35 years ago?

?? - not sure. The Dynomax Super Turbos are a good performance muffler, & they look stock on the outside - they have large diameter flow tubes internally & flow directors (like bank turns at each end internally). My buddy Nick is the head engineer for Dynomax & he is one SHARP muffler engineer! I used to work for them 11 years ago. Let me know what configurations you are looking for & I will look up a part #. You can get any Dynomax products right from NAPA - you'll have to most likely order them though.

I have the same mufflers on my L79. They have an aggressive sound, but not too loud. Just loud enough to let you know it's a Corvette coming..... I can actually hear my radio, and I can carry on a conversation with a passenger.

Walker stuff is top notch. I had those turbos on my 66 and loved the performance and the sound. I'm putting them on my 56 when I install the new small block.

I've aways been a fan of the Flowmaster sound. I've used them on several cars. They have new models out now that still have that unique sound, but aren't loud.

If I hadn't put sidepipes on my '63, I would have used Flowmaster again.

Just an update to this thread. I installed the 2 1/2" n-11 off road exhaust and it's sounds very nice. It's not much louder than the 2" system that was on previous, maybe a little throatier (spelling?) but really not much difference . I still have yet to take the car out of the garage for a road test because I'm waiting on a wiring harness for my signal light switch.

I'm new to this forum but in reviewing previous threads this has come up. To the best of my knowledge Gardner makes a very close to N11 system. I have also heard mid year 375hp and 365 hp cars with Walker mufflers that have two baffles. I don't know what they are called but they also come very close to N11's and do not have that turbo or aftermarket sound. Hope this helps.
