Default Date coding for '66 Brake master cylinders

Question: Were the (Julian calender) date codes on '66 Delco Brake Master cylinders cast into the unit or were they stamped? Thanks

Thanks! That's what I suspected. These guys are making accurate repros and said they could Julian date them for an extra $50.00. When I asked how they would be dated I was told "stamped". What kind of repro is that?

Thanks for that. Looks like the date on yours is 247, situated on the right hand side between the two screw impressions.

I just ordered an original '66 M/C with a date code of 251 from Crane Corvette, which corresponds to September 7th. The build date of my car is October 9th.

Sounds like you got lucky with your M/C date!

My '65 M/C was cast in September and my booster is dated from August. The car was assembled in December, but there was a strike in 1964, so the date lag is about a month and a half of Corvette production.

Unfortunately, mine had already been replaced before I bought my car. Contrats on your good fortune!
