Default side pipe heat shield

I have a 66 vette with side pipes and I am looking to replace the inner heat shield on the side exhaust covers and am wondering if anyone has done this and what sort of adhesive is the best to use when doing it.

thanks

Search the archives and you will get a lot of different options on this one. When I did mine I used GM Structural Urethane Installation Adhesive p/n 12378568. It worked out very well for me,easy to control the application but you need a special two-part epoxy gun to apply it. I'm getting ready to do another in a few weeks.

I used JB Weld on both of my side pipe covers with great results. Just be sure to clean both surfaces with thinner and lightly sand. Let it set for a full day before you install.
Good luck.

I used Liquid Nails. Squeeze it out with a caulk gun. Easy and effective. Just be sure not to over do it
