Last week I competed at the first ever Cruising the Coast AutoX. If you've never been to CTC, it's definitely one of those bucket list events for a car guy. I'm not a cruise/car show guy, but it is insane how many cars are down there.

The American Street Car Series guys put on an excellent autoX. This event is going to blow up in years to come, I'm gonna go ahead and predict it

Anywho, I won first place overall in the two day event! I drove back and forth from Mobile and put over 700 miles on the car.

Packed up with tools!

Saturday was incredible. I ran 7+ 20 minute sessions around the Daytona Rolex 24 hour course. I ended up putting up a top 14 time out of all classes. Unfortunately just as I was getting the hang of things I boiled the brake fluid which kinda killed my confidence in pushing things to the limit. At one point I was the only car on the track, at night, under the lights, for 3 or 4 laps. Make sure and watch the vids!

First thing Sunday morning I was in the garage frantically bleeding the brakes with new fluid. Luckily I finished with plenty of time. Sunday consisted of autox and the speed stop challenge. The "autoX" was held on the kart course which was really cool. I ended up with around a top 10ish and top 13ish time overall in both events

I'll bite what did you do with your side exhaust, it looks like you rerouted it, looks good. Also in your earlier response to me are you running the Bosch 044 or the Walbro? Thanks and congrats!

Vstol-I purchased 65 vette rocker panels, made a cutout, and hid the pipes behind the panel.

Im running the Bosch 044. Sitting at 23,000 miles on that pump.

I haven't created a build thread just yet, but its moving along . Im documenting though!

Many thanks and 23k on the car already, very nice!! Last question on the pump, is it mounted below the tank and have a one way valve on the exit side? Basically I have the same frame as yours (Mid America) just trying to find a spot where to mount it low.

Yes on the check valve but the pump is actually mounted above the outlets on the tank. There was really no place to mount it lower than the tank. It's not that big of a deal. The pump stays primed with the check valve in place and helps keep the fuel from draining back in the tank.

Not to get on a soap box, but you get people on forums that say "it wont do this or that" and "it has to be done this way to .00003 clearance". They spend 90% of the time trying to get the car perfect and never drive. Sure the pump mounted above the outlets is not the ideal location, but it works and I've put almost 24k on the car in extreme heat and I have beat the crap out of the car! Ok im done! haha

One of the best GS threads ever.

I wonder if the other "GS" (C4, C5, C6, C7) guys have as much fun as we do?

The C2's just rule!

Do you have any YouTube Video's up?

I would love to see/hear your ride tearing it up!

Any special performance attributes for the design of the rear spoiler?

How did you go about building and attaching int to your car?

Do your mirrors work well mounted at that location?

Thanks,
Ty
