What is the correct color of the speedometer cable sheathing on a 62 3-speed? A picture would be helpful if you have one.

At the Sacramento NCRS Regional, there was a one-owner '62. The speedo cable sheath on that car was unmistakeably grey.

My early 62 has the black vinyl covering. Can you switch out the inner cable? My speedo needle bounces and make a little noise. The odometer works. Or should I send the replacement steel case cable back to CC. I want to be correct.

I ended up doing that with my Tach cable after a bad experience with a repo. NOW it works fine.
