Default The lifts are in!! Bendpak HD9ST

Just finished assembling and installing my 2 lifts this past weekend. Bendpak could not have been better to deal with, had a few minor questions and concerns and they were resolved quickly and correctly. A big thanks to Jeff and Scott at Bendpak. Glad that job is done - now I have room to move around - thought you might enjoy some pics:

This way it's ready for those spur of the moment drives, which I take whenever I can! Gotta use 'em!

Looks great, congrats
I am looking to install a lift as well, has anyone here requested a more narrow cross member width ( to try and save garage space)?
Thanks

Not sure you would want anything narrower than I have. While there is plenty of room for a C2 or small to moderate sized daily driver, any narrower and I would be uncomfortable pulling in. They're 100" wide overall and 89.75" between posts.

I'll post some tonight. I had my tracks raised and had wall mount openers installed to give me maximum clearance under the doors. Here's the opener:

Very nice, Tim
I'm just getting ready to order one, couple questions.
Were you able to set them up yourself, how tough? Who did you get them from and if I may what did they run? Did you get the 220 or 110 motors?
Thanks

I bought mine through ASEDEALS here in CT. Each lift was 2835 plus an additional 55 each for a set of drip trays. I believe Bendpak sets a minimum dealer price and that is what ASEDEALS sells them for. Whatever dealer you buy it through, they are shipped from Bendpak in CA. If you can work a wrench and a level, you can assemble one. It's a bit intimidating at first, with all the parts, but once you organize everything, it's really quite simple. The 2 biggest challenges are how are you going to get it unloaded and how will you lift the heavy items to assemble it. The unit comes shipped as one piece about 14' long and weighs about 1700lbs. I was lucky to be able to ship it to my shop where we have a loading dock and forklift. I transported it home in the company small box truck and unloaded it at home piece by piece. The heaviest pieces are the runways, particularly the powerside runway which probably weighs about 350lbs. I was able to bring home a portable material handler from work, and that solved the heavy lifting challenge. An engine hoist with a strap would work fine as well.
The first lift took me about 10 hours total as it was a learning process and the second only about 6 hours including final adjustments and bolting it down.
I bought the 220v versions. I have an electrical background and wired the units myself.

Any other questions - I'll be happy to assist you.
Tim
p.s. - I belong to the Garage Journal forum - there's a great step by step illustrated thread on there by a member named Dolfan - I actually referred to that as much as the instruction book - his thread was actually clearer for some of the procedures.

Good eye - that's a 1956 T-Bird. Colonial White, Fiesta red interior,
3 speed manual.
