Default carpet install question

1- Carpet with foam backing installed over jute, plus on top of Dynamat (and/or some other similar underlayment similar to Dynamat).

2 - Carpet with no foam backing installed on top of Dynamat, etc.

3 - Carpet with foam backing installed on top of Dynamat, etc., with no jute.

4 - Carpet with foam backing installed with no underlayment.

5 - Carpet with foam backing, or no foam backing, installed over jute alone.

Foam backed carpet installed on top of jute, with an underlayment of some sort would seem the best way to go. Is this too thick? .. What's been your experience?

Carpet no foam on top of dynamat here. Nice and quiet and well insulated.

I did Dynamat, Jute, and Foam backed carpet on top. Amazingly nice and quiet and plush feel in the carpet in my 64 Coupe.

Just a side note. Try and get a steamer if you can. Makes job easier.

Dynamat then stock insulation (tar back) with carpet (no insulation on carpet). No install issues.
