Default '65 tire size using '68 rally wheels

Has anyone used 225/60/15 BFGoodrich g-Force Sport tires on a '65 using '68 rally wheels with 3 3/4" backspace, without having to do "plastic" surgery on the stock fenders? Per Summit Racing, this tire diameter is 25.63 ", tread width of 8.85" and section width of 9.00".

I'm running 225/65-15 on 15x7 (same width as your 68 wheels) with 4" back spacing. Tires just clear. No mods to fender lips. Yours will probably work, but there are just too many variables. The bodies are not perfectly symmetric, so don't be surprised if they fit on one side and not the other. Lots of threads in the archives on this, worth the reading.

I had to trim the rear fenders to clear 235/60-15 on '68 rallys. The fronts would rub the outer fender in a turn with bump.
