Default Throwout Bearing alignment

I've resumed my Muncie->RS500 swap after a few months off in the middle. I'm at the point of reassembling everything. I scrubbed off 45 years worth of grime and crud off the bellhousing, got new bolts (with $11 shipping, thanks Paragon), and plugged it in, along with the new clutch fork (the old one failed and bent, just in time for the trans swap) and throwout bearing.

I found one thread that said it's normal for the throwout bearing to be offset to the left and that the input shaft will align it when the trans moves up. I really don't want to have to do this again (I'm doing the work myself, crawling on the floor with jackstands that are too short to let me even use the creeper), so I figured I'd double-check.

Does this look about right?

If there's anything else glaringly wrong, let me know that too!

Edit: Vette's a 1966 327. The new clutch is a Centerforce II.

Looks normal/correct to me! That's what I'm doing in a few weeks. The trans input shaft is the final alignment. Dennis

Yup thats normal just stick the spline into the bell housing, jiggle around till you go through the throw out bearing then re-jiggle to get it to align with the pilot bearing in the Flywheel.

Possibly this will add some clarity.

Yup, I knew that part. I think I triple-checked that one.

Default T/o bearing

There should be a groove on the I.D. of the throwout bearing. Make sure that it is packed with wheel bearing grease. That's what lubes the T/O bearing to front transmission bearing retainer surfaces.
