Default Fuel tank felt anti-squeak cement

I have checked my assembly manual regarding the cementing of the felt anti-squeak felt to the fuel tank. The manual states that 9981098 cement be used. What kind of cement is this or what is recommended to use now? Thank you all in advance for your advice.

I sparingly used the 3M Black Weatherstrip Adhesive to glue my strips down to the frame before installing the tank. Worked great.

The felt strips on my 65 were glued to the tank with yellow adhesive. Probably the same stuff they used on weatherstrips. I used the black 3M W/S cement to glue the new ones on.

The 3-m yellow is a close substitute, but the actual stuff was a bit darker than the 3-m. But hey.. who is going to see it..

Black or Yellow the 3M will work just fine.

Thank you all. I just bought the yellow 3M adhesive. Will get at it tomorrow.

30 lb roofing paper and cut it to fit.

Good to go.

I believe the original stuff was about twice that thickness, so I have used the 20 lb and doubled it up before.
