Thanks for the pics. I see your installing the under dash insulation. Im having trouble getting the retainers through the firewall. any ideas?

Howdy,
I only replaced the light grey glue-on insulation.

However a forum member here made a tool for installing those retainers. In short though, take a piece of threaded rod, run a nut on it and then a big flat washer. Push the rod into the center of the retainer and adjusts the nut until the big flat washer hits the retainer face when the rod is about 3/8" shy of fully penetrating the retainer.

Now you have a tool.
Edit: I found the link from forum member Earl http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...cool-tool.html

Default I also am having trouble telling L from R...

How do you tell the Left assembly from the right one? I have found during assembly of my 1966 vette that I am missing one... but which one? the one I have has a D imprinted on the transmission arm. Does "D" stand for Driver's side? (It seems to fit on the drivers side...) are they different lengths?

On my '66, the drivers side has a D stamped on the short arm, and a '32' on the long arm. Passenger side has an E on the short arm and a '33' on the long one.

Run your windshield wiper motor BEFORE you install the wiper blades to ensure the transmission linkage is installed correctly and also to make sure the motor is parked before installing wiper blades. Use zip ties to simulate wiper blades.

How exactly is the wiper motor transmission connected to the wiper motor?
