Default What repair do you least look forward to making?

Well I once thought it had to be a dash harness for me. But with help from this forum that's off my list. But I really never want to see the hard line leaking gas from somewhere inside the frame. How about you?

You're bass ackwards here, I would think it would be:

Wiper work
replace pad, particularly the passenger side...
restore hardtop (never have, never will)
Working on dash cluster while it's in place
replace windshield (relative piece of cake)

Above applies to 58-62, early cars are much easier.

I'm not a fan of tweaking the carburetor.

Most everything. I find that it all about patience and being able to walk away and come back later to continue. It might take a bit longer, but less of chance of me making a mess of it.

Default Aargh

Anything involving defroster vents on a 58-62 seems to involve oversize hands and fingers, numerous dropped fasteners, no way to start the nuts or get wrenches in there, need for good closeup vision, headaches and not enough light where it is needed. Other than that, no problem.

Man, I have to agree with Tom. Whoever located the left side defrost vent on the C1 put the left side nut in a place where no mere mortal was meant to venture. How could anything so easy be so difficult and inflict pain on so many different body parts - back, fingers, head?

FLAREOTOMY. Now, before you Hot Roddin', Resto Moddin', Pro Tourin' G-Machiner's get wound up, I would leave the flares if they were in good shape. But they've been broken and poorly repaired over the years before I got the car.

Coolant system flush, simply because it needs done and is way overdue. By the time I get my current project finished, sunny days will be coming into KY, and I will be itching to drive the thing, not do mechanical stuff.

Replacing the wiring harness. Right now, doing it again.

Installing the gas tank
dash pad just a long process.
Wiper cables just alot of sweat
Anything inside of the doors lots of cuts to the arms.
dash insert just easy to mess up the insert.
Replacing the front springs. Not fun.
plumbing brake lines not fun and messy if leaking.
installing the pilot bearing
windshield too easy to break.
Installing the bumpers satisifying afterwards.
bleeding the brakes just a long process.

Other than remembering the correct routing, that job is much easier than anticipated providing you have a good wiring diagram. Hopefully you are adding a fusible link in there...

I’ve got a couple of small engine oil leaks (rear main and timing chain cover) that I need to chase. I’ve been procrastinating for almost two years now. They’re not that bad but any type of leak drives me crazy.
