My Corvette guy saw this at a recent show.
I did a search on the Forum with no results.

Sounds interesting, as long as your existing steering and suspension are in good shape.
On a C1 Vette you will end up modifying the steering column and shaft, since the tube is pressed into the steering box, and extends up through the firewall to the steering wheel bell, and the shaft goes from the box to the steering wheel.
Did not see a price or installation pictures.

Electric PS
I can't comment on the above, but I have electric power steering on my NSX. It works up to about 30 mph and then turns off. The unit is coupled with rack and pinion steering and is a pleasure to drive. Jerry

Do you mean you're getting an EZ Power Steering unit or another brand? Very interested in the price, results, and install details.

toddalin,
Can you give us a link to the pricing please.
Audiophobe,
In the first paragraph of the story it states:
"They are currently offering these setups for C1 and C2 Corvettes and 1960s Mustangs.

I may be confused.
The EZ set up does have a C1 unit. The prices quoted by toddalin wee for another brand that does not list, according to the site, a C1 set up (but does quote prices, no use to us).
As I mentioned, the EZ site does not post prices so I emailed them for info and install details.
It looks like Xplosive will be able to answer all the questions for us in a couple of days and my guess is that if it's worthwhile they will be selling the units (become a dealer) and give us Forum members a special price!

As you may know I just went thru the "power steering thing". I saw this and it looks like it would work very well. The only reason I chose not to go with it was because of all the crap behind your dash now. Trying to get at anything behind the dash would be twice as difficult in my opinion at least in a C2 not sure about a C1
I really did not want to hack apart anything but decided the lessor of all evils would likely be the Borgeson. I could not fit a normal power steering unit because of my 6 qt oil pan. So that elliminated all standard repro power steering units and some aftermarkets.
The electric was interesting but in the end I chose the Borgeson because it only requires a 2 and 1/2 cut on the end of your existing column shaft. To ensure I can restore the car I just ordered a new shaft and its in storage now.
If your car is a standard, then the two pedal assemblies and the electric motor obliterate almost any access to high up behind the dash, If thats not something you would worry about I think I may have chosen the electric.
I am replacing all my wiring harnesses so the thought that I may make a mistake and then try to get up there afterwards with this extra thing there, discouraged me.
If power to the electric unit fails, you have standard steering so there is no loss of steering.
It amplifies the steering power to your car based on amount of torgue needed to turn the wheels. There is a computer feedback loop that measures the torgue needed, So at a stop it supplies full electric power to the motor for max torgue and thru the feedback loop minimizes it when under way.
