Bad idea. While Corvette pulls a profit, they do so because they still benefit from corporate sharing of R&D and required government testing. I bet the price of Corvette would double or triple if it were a stand alone car outside the Chevrolet and GM umbrellas.
At 40,000 cars per year, how to they build a dealer network to sell and service them?
How to they maintain a parts inventory to service them?
Camaro went out of business as they couldn't sustain more than 40,000 of them the last few years. They only came back after GM looked foolish with the 2006 Mustang and the 2008 Challenger being such successes.
