Default 60 2-4s Set Up

The 60 that I bought is a 230 hp single 4 bbl and I like the look of the dual quad set up. Where could I find the manifold and carbs to change over?

If anyone has done it what are your thoughts?

Complete sets come up in the C1/C2 Parts For Sale forum right here and on eBay occasionally. Clone setups are $1200-$1800; 'real deal' 245hp/270hp can range from $2500-$3800. I have both and the clones run as good as the 'real deal' 270hp carbs which are in storage. The carb fuel lines and filter are available in repro if they aren't already on whatever you buy. Then of course you'll need the right air cleaner setup.

Here is a setup that needs lots of work in the price range I mention (too high IMO):

I have the solid lifter motor with the Duntov cam so I can't say how much 'punch' you'll get from adding dual quads to a base engine motor... I bought my clones from: MZTERCARB@AOL.COM. Some have said they had issues with this seller....my clone carbs were reasonably priced, properly setup and have been on the car for 18 months now.

Bob Kunz in St. Louis is THE most recoginzed 2x4 rebuilder/guru. He usually has 2x4 setups ready to go.

Van, If you want a complete, ready to go set up, contact - http://www.fueliedave.com/

They aren't cheap but they do look cool. I wouldn't expect any performance gains on your car though. I know Frankie had good luck with "MisterCarb" (AKA Chicago Corvettes) but many, many have had terrible service from him or not received their parts at all. If you have access to the NCRS forum, do a search on him and you'll find out why he has been banned. I would avoid him like the plague. Good luck.

I forgot about Fuelie Dave ... I have had several good transactions with him on original C1 brake drums and some other hard-to-find parts. Definitely give him a shot...

I talked to Bob Kunz at the NCRS show here in FLA in January and his inventory was real low but he is also worth pinging: bobkunz@att.net or 314-845-2566.

I can only relate my personal experience with my clone seller ... perfect transaction and the product was superb...
