Dr. Renee Richards 67 L-79 for sale on Ebay
Hi folks, just looking at this car on ebay and its already at 55k. It looks to be a nice car, but thats pretty good money in todays market. What do you folks think. Sorry I don't know how to post it on the forum.

Sued for the right to play professional tennis as a woman, and won. Happend before you were born, I believe.
How that affects the value of her car? About as subjective as why any "famous" person affects the value of a car they owned.

Got it. I think her situation was in the mid 70s, which at the time made a sex change HUGE news, much less the relationship with pro tennis and the right to compete.
Think of it as similar (in news worthiness) to the first test tube baby, the first cloned sheep, the first private rocket to reach outer space.

I gave her golf lessons in the late 90's to early 2000's and remember the car well. Very nice. Dan, I remember her telling me about the Cobra. If I remember her story correctly, it caught fire and she let it go rather than fixing it. Neat person. Still a world reknowned Opthomologist and does alot of gratis work for children.

I love the C2 roadsters. Appears to be in great shape. Excellent color combo, looks really good with the aux hardtop. Unusual provenance may add some value, not sure how much. Guessing $5-10K.
Good luck bidders.
Cheers,

All banter aside, that is one nice looking car. The '67 Goodwood with saddle and Red-Lines is one of the prettiest combos out there. This one would have to be at the top of my hit parade. My guess is high $60s to low $70s.

Know the area well, worked up at sedgwood supervising utilty work, that whole area and most of northern westchester is my turf. Home to quite a few notable people. Her age struck me though, wow time is flying..........
