Best Color for a C1 Restomod
If you've got a pic of a your favorite C1 restomod. Please share. I like them all and can't decide. It would easier if I could have a corvette for every color or flip a switch for each color. Black is my default choice. I've had black before, but it is a stinker to keep clean. Color name or code would help if you have it. I saw a tangerine on BJ last winter on a street rod that looked great. Not sure what it would look like. Thanks DG

Torch Red or Roman Red with white coves, or Black with Silver coves.
Haven't seen many "non-standard" colors that I like on a C1 or C2. And there are some "standard colors" I dislike quite a bit too...saddle comes to mind.

I had a '60 Corvette back in the 1970's that had a deep blue color that lit up whever the sun reflected off of it. It was stunning. With the rounded body on the C1's I would go with a deep burgundy, deep blue or other deep (dark) color that lights up in the sun.

One of my favorite current Corvette colors is Crystal Red metallic. Problem: It is a tri-coat paint system. Tricky to shoot. A nightmare to do any repairs on for a part time bodyman like myself.
Black, Silver Blue, Crown Sapphire for corvette colors.
Non-corvette Custom colors. House Of Kolor's Tangerine, Maroons, Blue Blood Red, Candy Apple is again a tri-coat.

Although tangerine was one color I considered that I do like,It's a color I thought I would tire of. My next color was candy apple red with a gold base, but that seemed too dark for me.
I ended up with DuPont Hot Hues candy apple red with their most sparkley silver base.
Most pictures do not do the color justice. But I found this picture of my car on Flickr taken by someone else and the color is impressive.
On average I'll get five best of show and five best paint with our short car show season, plus win my class.

Did you paint that Candy yourself? I have admired those Hot Hues at my Dupont paint store.
This a a tri-coat, but I may have to try it.
Looks Great. Even in the sun. Went to your link and she looks great at low light/shaded areas.

The ones I've seen in "Patriot Red" and "pewter" are freakin' awesome. I know of a Royal Blue one that took a long time to sell because buyers either hated or loved the color. I wasn't crazy about it at all--did NOT look C1-ish by a long shot..

I had a local body/restoration shop do my body work and paint. From what my painter said, the Hot Hues is easier to work with than House of Color.

I painted my first C1 (back in ‘69) a Pontiac Firebird green with an Oldsmobile Gold in the scoop, not that I’m pushing for that color. But I do think the world could use a few more green C1’s, maybe a dark green. The only thing I would say is anything but red; red looks good, but heck, how many red C1’s do we need?

Midnight Blue Pearl with white pearl coves.
Depending on the light it will look black or blue and will pick up the pearl with the light.
Or take a look at this link for the color
