Help with a C2 inspection in NW Georgia
Looking for someone to inspect a C2 in the NW Georgia area (Summerville).
I have an email out to someone I know in the area but don't know if or when I'll hear back.
Of course it goes without saying that I expect to pay you for your time, trouble, and expertise.
Thanks,
-- Steve

Yep, thanks, already have an email out to "Grey" (he told me once he prefers to be called by his first name rather than the more formal, "Mr. Ghost".) .
I'm not sure if he's around to return my message so I thought I'd put out a call to see if there's anyone else in that area who could help. Are you nearby and interested? I just did a deposit on a restored '67 L79 convertible.
Take care,

I heard back from Jerry (Grey Ghost) who lives 15 minutes from where the car is located. He can't do an inspection until the 21st. Don't think the seller will hold the car that long, even with a deposit.
Anyone else in the Summerville, GA area available for an inspection? It's in NW Georgia about 45 miles south of Chattanooga and 35 minutes north of Rome, GA. The immedate area is pretty rural and sparsely populated so I may be out of luck .
Thanks,
-- Steve

I know we've sent a couple of message back and forth- I'll be out there now on Monday it looks like, but I think you got your Saturday inspection all lined up. I'm sorry I had to put my little trip off. I'll email you my cell in case you have anything come up last minute I can help you with.

BTW, LOL on your offer to PAY ME .25 a mile plus gas to drive MY CAR from Georgia to Florida for me. That's a much kinder offer than my bud who says I'm too old to drive a car like that and has offered to drive it for me.
Take care,

Benton - Thanks, yes, I'm all lined up for an inspection on Saturday. If that turns out OK, and I have no reason to think it won't, I will probably buy the car then. I got your email with your cell number. If there are any following-up issues over the weekend I will give you a call. I appreciate your help .

Ok Steve- if you're going to put it out there on the forum, I want to be clear about this sweet sweet deal- it's .25 per mile, plus gas, plus wrap the nose before leaving. If you get negotiable on me, I'm open to discussing a detailing surcharge as well. "PM me." This is a good standing offer subject to my availability for ALL C2 members purchasing inside the continental US. Exclusions may apply for those living within 10 miles of Juarez.

Hmmm... there has to be a "So this is your first time bonding a complete front end on" how-to thread somewhere on here and the beauty of the modern age is that panel adhesive won't stick the on-line pages together as I read it in the shop. Let me find my sawzall and roughly 274 Smithwicks. I'll see ya in Florida!

And the bug juice will etch your paint if you don't get if off quickly.
Car washes in Florida do a booming business in May and September when these creatures appear. Fortunately, they're only around for a few weeks at a time.
