Delivery pics of my '67 (that I can't drive)
Here are unedited pics of the delivery of our '67 this afternoon. Way too many pictures of me but my wife was manning the camera. The smile you see on my face was before I discovered the shifter problem. I've waited nearly 50 years to own a Corvette and had hoped for a happier end to the day:

Just viewed your slideshow and I feel your pain. Your 67 side pipe roadster is a beauty, and you should be able to enjoy it right out of the box, when you buy it from a bonafide reputable dealer like Vintage Corvettes. I am certain your gremlin is a pretty easy fix, and that the good guys at VC will cover the tab (or at least they should). Maybe the linkage fell off during the trailer ride. I have a good buddy who also bought a 67 from them, and the car was sweet. They will make you happy I'm sure. Enjoy that vette!

Car looks great Steve a big congrats!
Don't get bummed-out over the shifter, it's a minor issue that you will quickly resolve.
Did you try moving the lever in the manner that I recommended in the other post?
Paul
PS Posted some pics for you, hope it's OK.

Thanks for all of the encouraging words. Yes, I know it will be fixed and isn't a big deal. It just kind of took the shine off of everything for me.
Paul - Thanks for posting those pics for me. And, yes, I tried what you suggested. I cannot get the stick into reverse at all. I cannot get the shifter to move left or right, just up and down. Up is either 3rd or 4th and down is either 1st or 2nd. And I cannot get neutral.
If it wasn't for those sidepipes, I could probably get underneath and take a peek.

I just looked your L79 up on G. Wyatt's website and it looks like a gem, like all their stock does. I am sure the glitch can be fixed very quickly by a good vette tech. Your car is one of the last mid year vettes built. You got a good one! Don't worry about this setback.

A trick for reverse once it's fixed, if it won't go in easily, put it back in neutral, let the clutch in and out once, then try again and it usually works.
Did the clutch feel OK when you tried it?

OK Steve, next would be to get under the car tomorrow and take a look at the linkage, probably a bit worn and the driver may have just forced it trying to get it into reverse.

Shopping for jack stands and floor jacks tomorrow. Used to own that stuff but haven't owned an old car for a long time and don't have them anymore.
Greg Wyatt from Vintage Corvettes responded back to my email right away. He said it worked fine when it left his place but that it's possible something could have happened between there and here. So he's on the case now.
I'll try to get under the car tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Since we've got a 6 year old Rat Dog, I thought I'd chime in. These old Vettes take some tinkering. Youll find your problem is not that big. Read the posts and advice and you'll have it fixed pretty quick.
Have fun and she looks beautiful.

Beautiful 67. Sorry you couldn't drive it right away, it's just part of owning a classic. I keep a couple of spares so I have one to drive while the others need some sort of maintenance.

Congratulations on your new 67 Steve. It looks like a beauty. Those boltons with sidepipes look great with the white I'm sure you'll figure out the shifter issue and be out driving soon. Probably just a linkage adjustment. Enjoy it

A stunning roadster and when you get her on the road you will look back upon yesterday as one of the best days ever for you and your wife. I waited 42 yrs for my first corvette and delivery day was one of the best days for me and my daughter. A good ride will cure all.
