Default Values of C1/C2 RestoRods?

I was watching a Mecum auction today as a RestoRod C2 (with LS2 and C4 suspension) came up for auction. The announcer stated that there is an interesting turn in the market demand for nicely executed RestoRods and that these Vettes are commanding MORE than there original counterparts. They never did say what that C2 sold for or whether it sold at all but I have seen values average $125K for a well put together VetteRod.

I have also seen (auction) some skyrocket from $150 to $250K.

Is there more data regarding values of well executed RestoRods (defined as having a new or customized frame/chassis with newer suspension and LS drive train)?

The easiest place to study them is on Barrett Jackson where you can do a search for custom Corvettes and all will come up. The ones that command a good price vary greatly. Quality of parts and quality of build seem to be the best qualifier. You can generally pick out the good ones from the photos and then verify by the sale price. Most lose money or break even, a few go for silly money. You end up with an average like $125k, lol.

This is not a 'turn' in the market...that's more BJ drivel to keep the sales patter up. Anybody in the hobby knows well done restos go for double a #2 original or more.
Been that way for more than a few years....
