What is a fair price for a 65 & 66 Corvette Powerglide Transmission
Hello,
I have a complete 65 & 66 Corvette Powerglide transmissions that I want to sell. The 66 is complete with all linkages and shifter. The 65 has the kickdown linkage only. The transmissions will probably need rebuilding. What would would be a fair price for each transmission? The transmissions can be shipped from my address in North Dakota or picked up from my home address in Manitoba, Canada.

I sold my 66 PG in great working condition with everything to a drag racer for $100 and he had to come and get it, that was the best offer I got for it.

not really seeing how every single passenger car GM built had one. the only thing that might be worth from the trany is the pan that has the number stamped on it and the shifter if the chrome is good

For starters, passenger cars could be had with 3 or 4 speed manual transmissions.
Next, TH350 and TH400 automatics replaced powerglides.
Etc.

Also Corvette powerglide transmissions have different tailhousings. Most Passenger cars did not have shifters that mounted on the tail like a Corvette.

OR, you could trade your PG changeover for a four speed changeover. Much easier to get rid of. Anybody wanting a PG setup would probably be happy to trade you even.

What a bunch of ball breakers. I can't be the only one who recognized Nowhere Man was referencing the power glide built autos for many years by GM indicating that a PG is not an extremely rare or valuable transmission. I have a spare aluminum case PG from a 66 Chevelle that I would love to recover the $100 I paid for it when I thought I was going to build another car with it. Even comes with the new 2500 stall converter.

I also have the nice transmission cooler and automatic shifter console with the power windows opening from that same car. Everything is going to go on Ebay if no one is interested here. I will wait 2 weeks.

Don't sell your stuff short. I'd keep it all together and sell as a package to someone who was building a PG car.

my car with Powerglide (65) must be unigue as the shifter mounts inside the car with a single rod going underneath.....

racers will probably pay the most, as you know powerglides tend to be a rather stout transmission that are not prone to failure so that reduces the need to replace them for most owners...do you know what the numbers on the pan for the '65 reads?
P/G's were in most automatic Chevys and Canadian Pontiacs up to 1968 and still available in Chevelles as late as 1972, likely most have been scrapped by now making them harder to find.
