looking for a pic of the shifter, installed. or an interior shot that shows the shifter. My base is too tall to use the stock boot, that seems wrong...is it? if so what have you guys done for boots? c5 boots? Thanks, I did a search, nothing answered what I was looking for...

The stock boot should work, post a pic of what you are seeing. I have a pic of what mine looks like on another drive. I can post it later for you to compare...

You just need to bolt the boot down and it will shape around the shifter handle.. Here is from a couple of years ago

Here is another

All of these photos are at least five years old as I haven't had the Tremec in the car for that long... I really need to pull the motor and put it back in...

Hitch,
Did you cut this stick off an old C2 Hurst and drill holes to fit the TKO? I wish Hurst still made that style. Thanks

Yes sir..... I cut it off one of the Hurst Muncie shifters and then had my good friend Jeff B machine the holes in it to fit the Tremec... Just a little something different..

You probably know this but your shifter design is different than others. Here's a shot of mine. It's from Hurst Driveline and is a TKO600. The boot fits fine.

see, it looks like your shifter is about 1 to 2" shorter than mine, Its a real strech to get it to touch the floor, let alone get it alighned with the metal boot retainer ring. So I think i will need to go the c4 route. will any year c4 boot work? will a c3 boot work?

your shifter is taller than mine.. i orderd my TKO600 a few years ago from classic chevy 5 speed and all the original parts fit - shifter surround / center console / boot(s). IIRC, my shifter doesn't have that machined box above the black plate on yours. I seem to recall my shifter box bolting straight to the side vice down from the top. could take some pics this weekend if you still need it.

IIRC, my Keisler Perfect Fit TKO-600 is also different at the top (was their 2nd design) and doesn't stick up as high. Mine came with a Hurst shifter with the flattened sides, but it doesn't have the bend in it.

thanks, I'm still trying to figure out what to do, any all pics/ideas are welcome. The good news is I can complete the rest of the install/ testdrive while I figure it out.
