I purchased a new hub and shaft for the 66. I notice that when I slip the hub onto the shaft that it only bites approximately 1/4 inch of the splines. I wrecked the last shaft tightening it without getting the hub on far enough. When I turned the wheel it flattened the splines on both the shaft and the hub. Are the new shaft and hub splines supposed to be that tight and did anyone use some type of lubricant to help easing the hub onto the shaft. Thanks for any replies.
